Aloware’s LRN API can be used to look up phone number information programmatically. This information includes the phone number type (landline, wireless, VoIP, or other), and you may use this to clean your contact data.

When you import contacts into Aloware (or add them one by one or through integrations), Aloware automatically checks the phone number type and saves that information for later usage. Note that there is a $0.002 (two-tenth of a cent) charge for any LRN lookup.

  • LRN Lookups occur automatically for all customers (accounts) whenever a new phone number is added to the platform:

    • Manually added

    • Imported

    • Synced with a CRM

    • Via webhook

    • API

  • Aloware bills customers every month based on the number of LRN Requests (phone numbers added)

What is the Number Lookup API used for?

Aloware internally uses the LRN data to figure out who is a mobile customer from landlines. This information is extremely helpful for SMS marketing campaigns as well as individual SMS delivery. Some of our customers use this API to clean a list of phone numbers before importing it into Aloware.

Can you look up who this number belongs to?

We do have another API that can be used for that purpose. The API data is provided by Twilio (documentation).

Where is the API documentation?

You can view your API docs along with your account’s token (API Key) by going to the Integrations menu and clicking on the “Number Lookup API” tab. The API key is unique to your user account on Aloware, meaning other Admin users have their own keys.
