Starting May 15, 2022, all new Toll-Free Numbers (TFN) are required to complete the toll-free verification process. Accounts with existing TFNs and traffic should complete the verification process on or before September 30, 2022.

What is the Toll-Free Message Verification?

The toll-free message verification is a required process for all businesses that send messages via toll-free numbers in US/Canada. Verified TFNs are tagged and approved by carriers for messaging.

  • Summarize the use case

  • How will consumers be opting into SMS programs on this toll-free number?
    (Please provide screenshots of opt-in workflows if online)

  • Will the text messages be advertising or promoting a commercial product or service?

  • Was this traffic previously on another messaging platform/service?

    • New to Messaging

    • Short Code

    • Long Code

  • Sample message content and (if previously used through another
    service) numbers

    • Content

    • Number (s)

  • Where is the number published (if anywhere)?

  • Are you a Fortune 500 or 1000 company?

  • Corporate Website

  • Call to Action (in the messaging)

  • Do you plan to send SMS to users in Canada?

  • If Yes to 16, will the majority of your messaging traffic be set to Canada?

  • Monthly SMS Volume through this number
