How to Build an Appointment Setting AlohaBot
Step 1: Adding your Intent
During conversations, AlohaBot recognizes different intents. Intent determines the appropriate response, representing the user's intended outcome. When setting up the AlohaBot, you can customize intents to fit your needs and objectives. This provides your clients with a smooth conversational experience.
To add your Intent for Appointments:
Once you have created your bot, go to AlohaBot and click the workflow of your selected bot.
Navigate to the Intent Manager tab > click the +Add Intent button.
On the Add Intent window, specify the Name of your Intent.
In the Training Phrases, click Add Training Phrase and type in the phrase you want AlohaBot to learn from.
For appointments, you can use the following:
“Schedule an appointment.”
“Book a meeting.”
“I would like to set up a call.”
“Can you help me arrange a meeting?"
“I need to schedule a consultation.”
Once you are satisfied with your Intent, click Save.
Note: Training Phrases could be anything you like, given that it is relevant to your aim.
Step 2: Building your Conversation Flow
AlohaBot includes a Flow Builder that allows you to customize conversation flows for their bots. The Flow Builder enables you to design engaging, effective, personalized conversations with your users. You can connect panels representing various functions or actions by dragging and dropping them. You can accomplish this by creating, customizing, and fine-tuning the conversational experience provided by their bots.
Now that you have created your intent, it is time to build your Conversation Flow for Appointments:
Navigate to the Flow Builder tab.
Drag and drop a Get Input panel and connect it to Start.
Click Settings on the Get Input panel and select the intent you added earlier.
Once you have added your intent, drag and drop a Send Message panel and connect it to the intent on the Get Input panel.

Click Settings on the Send Message panel and type in a message acknowledging the appointment as set.
Once you are satisfied with the flow of your conversation, click Build.
Note: the AlohaBot does not initiate a conversation with clients. To avoid breaking your bot, start your conversation flow with a Get Input Panel.
Testing your Chatbot
To test your conversation flow, navigate to the Chatbot Settings.
Before sending a test message, you must search for a contact to impersonate.
Once you have impersonated a contact, send a message using one of the training phrases to trigger the Appointment intent.
