This guide walks through connecting Claude AI (web) to Aloware using the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Once connected, Claude can send messages, make calls, create contacts, and perform other Aloware actions directly from a chat.
This setup uses OAuth 2.1, which is the recommended authentication method for marketplace clients like Claude AI.
Before you begin
Make sure you have the following ready.
Aloware account - an active Aloware account with access to Aloware admin → Integrations → MCP.
Claude AI account - an active Claude AI account at claude.ai with access to Settings → Connectors.
Chrome browser - both Aloware and Claude AI should be open in the same browser session so the OAuth flow can complete.
Please note that some MCP tool usage (SMS, RV, calls, number lookup) is considered automated and paid. You are agreeing to our billing terms by using MCP tools.
Step 1: Get your Aloware MCP server URLs
Log in to Aloware admin and go to Integrations → MCP.
You will see three MCP servers, each with its own endpoint URL:
Server | Endpoint | What it does |
Communication | Sending SMS/MMS, ringless voicemails, and calls
Contact | Creating and looking up contacts, managing sequences
Operations | Team status, inbox availability, and Power Dialer management |
Use the copy icon next to each URL to copy the endpoint. You will paste this into Claude in the next step.
You can connect one, two, or all three servers depending on what you want Claude to do. Each server must be added individually in Claude.
Step 2: Add Aloware as a custom connector in Claude AI
In Claude AI, open Settings → Connectors.
Scroll to the bottom of the Connectors list and click Add custom connector.
In the Add custom connector dialog, fill in the following fields:
Name - A clear name for the connector, for example
Aloware MCP (Comms)for the Communication server.Remote MCP server URL - Paste the server URL you copied from Aloware (e.g.
https://app.aloware.io/mcp/communication).
Leave Advanced settings closed. OAuth Client ID and OAuth Client Secret are both optional and are not required for a standard Aloware connection.
Click Add.
The new connector will appear in your Connectors list with a Connect button next to it.
Step 3: Authorize Claude to access Aloware
On the newly added connector (for example, Aloware MCP (Comms)), click Connect.
A new tab will open and take you to the Aloware authorization page.
Confirm the account listed under Logged in as is the correct Aloware account.
Review the requested permission: Use MCP server.
Click Authorize.
You will see an Authorization successful! confirmation. You can close that tab and return to Claude.
Back in Claude, the connector will now show a Configure button instead of Connect, and a "Connected to Aloware" confirmation will appear at the top right.
Step 4: Add the remaining MCP servers (optional)
If you also want Claude to manage contacts or run operations, repeat Steps 2 and 3 for the other two servers:
Server | Suggested Name | URL |
Contact | Aloware MCP (Contact)
Operations | Aloware MCP (Operations) |
Each server needs its own connector entry and its own OAuth authorization in Claude.
Step 5: Test the connection
Open a new chat in Claude AI.
Type a prompt that asks Claude to use Aloware, for example: "Use Aloware and send a text from 424-555-5555 to 980-555-5555."
Claude will read the available MCP tools and may ask for missing details, such as the message body. Reply with the content, for example: "Hey, Aloware MCP is now live! Connect AI to messaging CRM and more. Interested?"
Claude will request permission to run the tool. A prompt will appear saying Claude wants to use Send-sms-tool from Aloware MCP (Comms). Choose one of the options:
Option | Behavior |
Always allow | Claude can use this tool without asking again in the current connector. |
Allow once | Claude uses the tool for this action only. |
Deny | The action is blocked. |
After approving, Claude executes the action through Aloware. The SMS is sent from the selected Aloware line, credits are consumed, and the message appears in the contact timeline with Creator Type: MCP.
What to expect after connecting
Once the connection is active. Claude can send messages, make calls, create leads, and perform any other action supported by the connected MCP servers.
Every action runs in real time against your Aloware account and consumes credits the same way a manual or API-triggered action would.
All activity is logged in the contact timeline with Creator Type: MCP for reporting and auditing.
You can disconnect or reconfigure the connector at any time from Settings → Connectors in Claude AI.
