Aloware-HubSpot property mapping: Contact disposition

Learn how HubSpot Lead Statuses sync as Contact Dispositions in Aloware, including sync directions, behavior, and key requirements.

Written by Laarni D

What are contact dispositions?

A contact disposition in Aloware (or Lead Status in HubSpot) represents the current status or outcome associated with a contact.

These statuses help track where a contact is in your engagement or sales process, such as New Lead, In Progress, or Contacted.

When HubSpot is integrated with Aloware, Lead Statuses from HubSpot are synchronized and used as Contact Dispositions in Aloware. This ensures that both platforms use the same status values, helping maintain consistent reporting and workflows.

Understanding sync behavior

Contact disposition synchronization follows the sync direction configured for the HubSpot integration.

  1. Aloware ← HubSpot (Default)

By default, Lead Status updates made in HubSpot are synchronized to Contact Dispositions in Aloware.

Changes made to Contact Dispositions in Aloware do not update HubSpot while this sync mode is active.

  2. HubSpot ↔︎ Aloware (optional two-way sync)

When bi-directional synchronization is enabled, updates made in either platform remain synchronized.

    • Changes to Lead Status in HubSpot update Contact Dispositions in Aloware.

    • Changes to Contact Dispositions in Aloware update Lead Status in HubSpot.

  3. Aloware → HubSpot

Outbound-only synchronization from Aloware to HubSpot is not supported. Contact Disposition updates from Aloware can only synchronize to HubSpot when bi-directional synchronization is enabled.

How agents use contact dispositions in Aloware

After the HubSpot integration is connected and Lead Statuses have been synchronized, agents using Aloware Talk will see the Lead Statuses imported from HubSpot.

These synchronized statuses are displayed with a lock (🔐) icon and cannot be edited within Aloware. This ensures that all users work with the same standardized Lead Statuses defined in HubSpot.

Before you begin

Before Contact Dispositions can be synchronized, ensure that:

  • The HubSpot integration has been successfully connected.

  • Contact Property Mapping has been configured.

  • The Lead Status property exists and is properly mapped between HubSpot and Aloware.

For more information, see the Contact Property Mapping documentation.

How contact dispositions are synchronized

Once the HubSpot integration is connected, Lead Statuses are automatically synchronized based on the configured sync direction.

No manual maintenance is required after synchronization is enabled.

To verify synchronization:

  1. Update the Lead Status of a contact in HubSpot.

  2. Confirm that the Contact Disposition for the same contact updates in Aloware.

  3. If bi-directional synchronization is enabled, update the Contact Disposition in Aloware and verify that the Lead Status is updated in HubSpot.

Important considerations

Sync direction

The configured sync direction determines how Contact Dispositions are updated.

  • Inbound sync (←) allows HubSpot to update Contact Dispositions in Aloware.

  • Bi-directional sync (↔) allows updates to flow between both HubSpot and Aloware.

Locked contact dispositions

Because Contact Dispositions originate from HubSpot Lead Statuses, synchronized values cannot be modified directly by agents in Aloware Talk.

Any changes to the available Lead Status values should be made in HubSpot.

Disconnecting and reconnecting the integration

If the HubSpot integration is disconnected and later reconnected, the Contact Disposition synchronization direction automatically returns to the default Inbound sync (←) configuration.

If bi-directional synchronization is required, it must be enabled again after reconnecting the integration.
