Aloware-HubSpot property mapping: Contact disposition

Written by Laarni D

What are contact dispositions?

A contact disposition (in Aloware) or Lead status (in HubSpot) represents the status or outcome tied to a contact. These categories help track where a contact is in your engagement or sales process (e.g., new lead, in progress, contacted).

By syncing contact dispositions (or statuses) between HubSpot and Aloware, you enable more accurate tracking and consistent workflows.

Understanding sync behavior

The behavior of contact disposition synchronization has two (2) options:

  1. HubSpot → Aloware (Default)

If you change the Lead Status in HubSpot, the update will automatically sync to the Contact Disposition in Aloware.

  2. HubSpot ↔︎ Aloware (optional two-way sync)

When enabled, updates in HubSpot sync to Aloware, and vice versa. Changes made to Contact Dispositions in Aloware are reflected back to Lead Statuses in HubSpot.

  3. Aloware → HubSpot NOT Supported

Any changes made to the Contact Disposition in Aloware will not sync back to the Lead Status in HubSpot.

Additionally:

If the HubSpot integration is disconnected and later reconnected, the sync direction always resets to HubSpot → Aloware.

How your Agents use contact dispositions in Aloware

When agents log into Aloware Talk, they will see:

  • A list of Lead Statuses sourced directly from HubSpot.

  • These statuses are locked (indicated by a 🔐 icon), ensuring consistency and preventing manual edits in Aloware.

This setup ensures agents always work with the HubSpot-defined statuses, maintaining uniformity across platforms.

Steps to sync contact dispositions

  1. Complete the integration

Before enabling the sync, you must connect Aloware with HubSpot:

    1. In Aloware, go to the HubSpot Integration Settings.

    2. Follow the steps to authenticate and establish the connection between the two platforms.

  2. Synchronize contact dispositions automatically

Once the integration is set, HubSpot Lead Statuses will automatically sync to Aloware as contact dispositions. There is no manual action required to maintain this synchronization—it is fully automated and one-way.

  3. Verify the sync

To confirm that the synchronization is working:

    1. Update a Lead Status for a contact in HubSpot (e.g., change "New Lead" to "Contacted").

    2. Check the corresponding Contact Disposition for that contact in Aloware to verify that it matches the updated status from HubSpot.

Important notes about synchronization

  1. Sync direction

If set to HubSpot → Aloware, updates from HubSpot will sync one-way into Aloware. Changes in Aloware won't affect HubSpot.

If set to HubSpot ↔ Aloware, updates will sync bidirectionally, keeping both platforms aligned.

  2. Locked fields for agents

In Aloware Talk, agents cannot modify the synced contact dispositions, ensuring alignment with the HubSpot-defined statuses.

  3. Disconnecting the integration

If the HubSpot integration is ever disconnected and reconnected, the sync direction will automatically revert to HubSpot → Aloware, which is the default behavior.
