Registering lines in Aloware A2P 10DLC compliance

How Aloware admins register unregistered lines for A2P 10DLC compliance: add them to an existing campaign or submit a new one for review.

Written by Laarni D

A2P 10DLC (Application-to-Person 10-Digit Long Code) is the registration system that US wireless carriers require before a business can send SMS from a regular 10-digit phone number. If an Aloware line (a phone number on your account) isn't registered, carriers may filter, throttle, or block its text messages.

This step shows you how to register any lines that aren't covered yet, so your messages keep going through.

This walkthrough is for Aloware admins, since registration changes are made from the admin account.

Before you start

You need admin access to your Aloware account; only admins see the Compliance settings used here.

Have your list of lines ready so you can register them in one pass. Also decide whether you'll attach the lines to an existing campaign or register a new one.

A campaign is a registered SMS use case, like "appointment reminders" or "customer care." Every line must belong to a campaign before it can send A2P-compliant texts, and a line can only belong to one campaign at a time.

Open the unregistered lines view

  1. In your Aloware admin account, open the Account menu and click Compliance.

  2. Click the Unregistered Lines section. You'll see a list of every line that still needs registration.

Pick a line and choose how to register it

Click an unregistered line to start the registration process.

Each line has to be tied to a campaign, so you have two choices: add the line to a campaign you already have, or register a new campaign for it.

Register a new line campaign

Use this if none of your existing campaigns fit, or if this is your first time registering.

  1. Select Register a new campaign.

  2. Fill out the campaign registration form. For step-by-step help on what to enter in each field, see A2P 10DLC Compliance: Campaign Registration.

Review your campaign details

After submission, your campaign appears under the Campaigns section. Each row shows:

  • ID - the unique identifier for the campaign.

  • Use case - the purpose you registered the campaign for (e.g., customer care, marketing).

  • Status - where the campaign currently stands in the review process. You'll typically see Pending, Approved, or Rejected, and the value updates as the review progresses.

  • Submitted at - the date the registration was submitted.

  • Actions - lets you delete the campaign if needed.

To see the full campaign details and the numbers assigned to it, click the drop-down arrow on the campaign row.

Wait for review

The Aloware compliance team reviews each submission, and approval depends on the carrier review process plus the completeness of the details you provided.

Once the status changes to Approved, the lines tied to that campaign are officially registered.

Verifying it worked

You'll know registration is complete when both of these are true:

  • The campaign Status shows Approved in the Campaigns section.

  • The line no longer appears under Unregistered Lines.

After that, you can send SMS from those lines as usual, and they'll meet A2P 10DLC requirements.
