Multiple account switcher in Aloware Talk

Learn how to use Aloware’s multiple account switcher to manage and switch between accounts in Talk without logging out.

Written by Laarni D

The multiple account switcher in Aloware Talk allows admins to move between different accounts linked to their user profile without logging out or opening separate dashboards.

It is designed for users who manage more than one business or environment under a single login.

Where to access it

Inside Aloware Talk, the switcher is located in the user profile menu at the top-right corner of the screen.

Clicking your profile opens a dropdown where you will find the account selection option.

How to switch accounts

Once you open the account selector, you will see a list of accounts assigned to your user.

Selecting an account will reload Talk and take you directly to that account’s workspace.

You can repeat the same process anytime you need to move to another account. The switch happens within the same interface, so there is no need to log out or open another tab.

How account access works

The accounts you see in the switcher are based on what has been assigned to your user profile. If an account is not assigned, it will not appear in the list.

When you switch accounts, you are fully moving into that account’s environment. This means the data, settings, conversations, and logs you see will belong only to the selected account. Each account operates independently even if they are tied to the same user.

Account structure and permissions

Account control follows a parent and child setup. The main account holds the primary permissions and manages how child accounts are structured. Child accounts do not override or control the main account settings.

Any changes to account access, assignment, or structure must be done through the main account setup in the admin panel. This ensures consistency in how accounts are managed across the system.

Adding accounts to the switcher

If you need to include another account in the switcher, it must first be assigned to your user through the admin panel using the assign account option.

Once added, it will automatically appear in the account selection list inside Talk.

The multiple account switcher is meant to keep account management within a single workspace while still separating each account’s data and settings.

Getting started with the multiple account switcher

The multiple account switcher is available to admins, enabling them to manage multiple accounts seamlessly within Talk.

Using the multiple account switcher in Talk

  1. Click your profile - In Talk, click on your user profile at the top-right of the screen.

  2. Select account - you will now see a select account feature in the dropdown. This will list all the accounts linked to your profile.

  3. Switching accounts - To switch to another account, simply select the desired account from the list. For example, if you select Galactic Empire (or any other assigned account), the page will refresh, and you will be redirected to that account’s dashboard within Talk.

  4. Seamless transition - you can switch back and forth between accounts without leaving Talk.

Just click select account again and choose a different account from the list. This allows you to manage multiple accounts efficiently, all from within the same interface.

Key points to remember

  1. Account hierarchy - the primary account holds all the permissions and settings for its child accounts. Make sure that any changes are done from the main user, as child accounts cannot inherit from a duplicate parent.

  2. Visibility in Talk - the multiple account switcher is now fully integrated into Talk, so you no longer need to access the admin panel for switching. However, this functionality remains unchanged in the admin part of the product and continues to work as before.

  3. Adding new accounts - if you need to add a new account (e.g., for testing purposes or new business entities), you can do this through the assign account option in the admin panel. Once added, the new account will appear in your select account dropdown in Talk.

The multiple account switcher brings flexibility and convenience for admins who manage several accounts. By allowing seamless switching within Talk, admins can now handle all their communications, settings, and monitoring from one interface, without the need to navigate away from their current workspace.
