What is the DNC Property?
The Do Not Call (DNC) property identifies contacts who have opted out of communications. When synchronized between Aloware and HubSpot, this property keeps DNC preferences consistent across both platforms, helping your organization respect customer communication preferences, reduce manual updates, and support compliance with communication regulations.
Important: DNC synchronization is one-way only. Changes made in Aloware are synced to HubSpot. Changes made in HubSpot do not sync back to Aloware.
Set up DNC synchronization
Before you begin, ensure that the HubSpot integration is already connected in Aloware.
Step 1. Create the DNC property in HubSpot
In HubSpot, go to Settings > Data Management > Properties > Create Property.
Create a property with the following configuration:
Property name: DNC
Object: Contact
Group: Contact Information
Field type: Single checkbox (True/False)
This property stores the DNC status that will be updated by Aloware.
Step 2. Map the DNC property in Aloware
In Aloware Admin, open the HubSpot integration.
Click the Settings button on the HubSpot integration card.
Open the Contact Property Mapping tab.
Click + Add Mapping.
Map the Aloware DNC field to the HubSpot DNC property.
Once configured, DNC values are automatically synchronized from Aloware → HubSpot.
How DNC synchronization helps agents
Although the DNC property is configured by admins, it directly affects how agents work in Aloware.
When a contact is marked as Do Not Call (DNC) in Aloware, that status is automatically synchronized to HubSpot. This keeps contact records consistent across both platforms without requiring manual updates.
Because DNC status is maintained automatically, agents can confidently focus on eligible contacts, knowing that restricted contacts are identified consistently throughout the system.
How DNC synchronization works with Aloware features
The synchronized DNC property is enforced by Aloware's outbound communication tools.
Contacts marked as DNC are automatically excluded from Sequences, Broadcasts, and Power Dialer sessions. This helps prevent accidental outreach to contacts who have opted out and ensures communication preferences are respected across outbound campaigns.
Configuration requirements
Before DNC synchronization can work correctly, make sure the following requirements are met:
HubSpot integration is enabled. The Aloware and HubSpot integration must already be connected before property mapping can be configured.
A DNC property exists in HubSpot. Create a custom single checkbox (True/False) contact property named DNC to store the synchronized value.
The DNC fields are mapped. In the Contact Property Mapping tab, map the Aloware DNC field to the HubSpot DNC property so the values can synchronize.
Synchronization is one-way. DNC values sync from Aloware to HubSpot only. Updates made directly in HubSpot do not sync back to Aloware, ensuring that DNC status is managed from a single source of truth.
