Setting up an inbound text line for AloAi Agents

Once you have configured your AloAi Agent, it is time to assign lines to handle inbound messages.

For existing lines

  1. Navigate to Lines menu in the Aloware admin panel.

  2. Locate the line you want to assign, then click Settings.

  3. Go to the Routing and IVR tab.

  4. In the Who should handle incoming messages column, toggle the option An AloAi Agent.

  5. From the dropdown, select the desired AloAi Agent to route incoming messages to this line.

For new lines

  1. Read this guide to learn how to add new lines to Aloware.

  2. Configure the general details of your new line (learn more here).

  3. Once added, navigate to the Routing and IVR tab.

  4. Toggle on the option An AloAi Agent under the Who should handle incoming messages column.

  5. Select the AloAi Agent bot for this line.


Important: Rules for line assignment

Keep these rules in mind when assigning lines to avoid conflicts:

  1. A default outbound line assigned to an AloAi Agent cannot be assigned multiple times.

  2. A line set as default outbound cannot also be used as an inbound line.

  3. A line designated as inbound cannot be set as default outbound.

  1. Send a test message or initiate a call to confirm the routing works as expected.
