Guide to setting a contact as DNC in AloAi Agent

The set contact as DNC action helps businesses comply with regulatory requirements and respect customer communication preferences. This feature allows users to classify contacts as Do Not Call (DNC) directly within Aloware.

Once a contact is marked as DNC:

  • Their profile is updated to block all outbound communications, including calls, messages, scheduling, and reminders.

  • DNC contacts are automatically excluded from Aloware Sequences, Broadcasts, and the Power Dialer, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency.

Prerequisite: Setting up the AloAi Agent

Complete the AloAi Agent setup according to the AloAi Agent setup guide. Ensure the agent is configured with the appropriate actions and prompts to identify and handle DNC requests effectively.


Setting up the set contact as DNC action

  1. Define conditions and prompts

    Create triggers or conditions for the AloAi Agent to recognize when a contact should be marked as DNC.

    Example: "I don't want to be contacted again" or "Add me to your Do Not Call list."

    These tailored prompts ensure that only valid requests trigger the Set Contact as DNC action.

  2. Add the DNC action

    Click the +Add action and select set contact as DNC from the available options in the dropdown menu to enable this functionality.


Testing the configuration

  1. Identify contact to test

  2. Trigger the action - engage in a test conversation with the AloAi Agent using sample phrases that simulate a customer's DNC request. This ensures the agent recognizes the trigger phrases and applies the DNC action.

    • "Stop contacting me."

    • "Add me to your Do Not Call list."

    • "I don’t want to receive any more calls or messages."

  3. Validate the outcome

    Review the agent's response to confirm that the DNC action has been successfully applied. Check the test contact’s profile in Aloware Talk to verify that it has been updated to block outbound communications.
