How to use Aloware's line settings audit trail

Aloware’s Line Settings Audit Trail helps admins track every change made to phone line configurations. It records who made an update, what was changed, and when it happened, keeping your system transparent and organized.

Why this feature is important

When multiple admins manage lines, it’s easy to lose track of updates. The audit trail prevents confusion by showing a detailed record of all changes. You’ll always know if someone rerouted calls, renamed a line, or modified settings without needing to guess.

This transparency helps teams stay aligned, troubleshoot faster, and maintain consistent communication flows.

How to access the line settings audit trail

  1. Log in to your Aloware Admin account.

  2. Go to the Lines tab.

  3. Select the line you want to review.

  4. Click the Audit Log tab at the top of the page.

Each entry shows the name of the user who made the change, the exact time the change was made, and which settings were updated. You'll also see both the previous and new values for those settings.

How the audit log works

The audit log automatically tracks line-level changes, no setup required. Every time someone updates routing rules, toggles a feature, or edits a setting, the change appears in the log.

You can scroll through the entries or use the built-in search and filter tools to find specific updates. This is especially helpful if you want to investigate an issue, verify a configuration change, or see which user adjusted something at a specific time.

For example, if calls suddenly start skipping your ring group, you can check the audit log to confirm whether a routing rule was changed and by whom. This lets you reverse unwanted changes and maintain your intended call flow.

Common ways teams use the audit trail

Many businesses use this feature to support operational reviews, compliance checks, and troubleshooting. If you're running a sales team and notice a drop in call volume, the audit log can help you quickly confirm whether the line settings were altered.

Supervisors and team leads also rely on the audit log to ensure that changes to call flows or ring strategies are intentional, and not the result of accidental misconfiguration.

Is activation required?

No additional setup is needed. The audit trail is automatically enabled for all phone lines in Aloware. As soon as a change is made, it appears in the log with full detail.
