Configure lines and scheduling for an AloAI Voice agent

Set an AloAI Voice agent's outbound line, international calling, working hours, and holiday availability on the Lines & Scheduling tab.

Written by Laarni D

The Lines & Scheduling tab controls how an AloAI Voice agent (Aloware's automated voice assistant) dials out and when it is allowed to work.

From this tab you set which phone line the agent calls from, whether it can place international calls, the hours it is active, and how it behaves on US national holidays.

Default outbound line

The Default outbound line setting controls which phone line the agent dials from. It has two options, and each one now includes short in-product guidance so you can pick the right behavior the first time. The two options are mutually exclusive, so you select one.

To find it, open the AloAI Voice agent, go to the Lines & Scheduling tab, and look for the Default outbound line section near the top.

Select the last line used by agent works best when the agent engages after a human, such as a warm handoff or a continuation of an existing conversation. The agent keeps dialing from the line that is already in play.

Select the default outbound line for this agent works best when the agent starts its own conversations as fresh outbound calls. The agent always dials from its configured default line.

Allow international engagement (outbound agents only)

This setting controls whether an AloAI Voice agent can make international outbound calls and texts. New agents have international calling turned off by default, which prevents unwanted costs.

Admins can allow it per agent, so restrictions do not have to apply to the whole account. Restrictions apply only to AloAI Voice agents and leave human user lines unaffected.

When a restriction is active, Aloware blocks the call, shows the user an error message, and logs the attempt.

Turning restrictions on prevents unexpected costs from agents dialing international numbers, reduces the risk of misuse of agent lines, and supports compliance with corporate communication policies.

What admins can do:

  • Block all international calls for AloAI Voice agents.

  • Review audit logs of blocked attempts.

What users can expect:

  • Aloware blocks attempts to dial international numbers when restrictions apply.

  • A blocked attempt shows an error message explaining the restriction and is logged for review.

  • Domestic outbound calls continue without interruption.

  • If an admin updates the restriction, users can retry or re-enroll the call.

Working hours

Working hours define the specific hours when the agent is active and able to communicate with customers. If you do not set custom hours, the agent stays operational 24/7.

Setting hours keeps the agent from engaging outside business hours, which reduces the chance of unresolved conversations when your team is unavailable.

US national holidays

You can enable or disable the agent's availability on US national holidays. Disabling availability on holidays aligns the agent with your holiday schedule and reduces frustration for customers during closed periods.
