The Missed calls section of an inbox's settings decides what happens to a call that reaches the inbox and nobody takes it.
To open it, go to Inboxes, click the inbox, then click Missed calls.
When a call counts as missed
A call to the inbox becomes a missed call in any of these cases:
Max queue hold time runs out before an agent answers.
The inbox uses Only 1 ringing round and the round ends with nobody answering.
Treat calls as missed when no agents are available is on, and nobody in the inbox can answer when the call arrives.
Missed calls are handled in this order: AI Call Rescue first, if it is turned on for your account, then the inbox's missed call setting, then the line's own missed call settings.
Choosing what happens to missed calls
Under What happens to missed calls, pick one option:
Use the line's missed call settings (default)
Each line that routes calls to this inbox handles its missed calls as its own settings say. See Lines: Routing and IVR settings.
Take a voicemail
The inbox takes the voicemail itself. Under Voicemail greeting, choose what the caller hears:
Text to speech: type the greeting, and use Add variable to insert details into it. The default greeting is "We are sorry, but no agents are available to take this call. Please leave your message after the beep."
Audio file: use a recorded greeting instead.
Send an AloAi agent to handle it
An AloAi agent takes the call instead of voicemail. See AloAi Agents.
AI Call Rescue is turned on for the whole account, not in each inbox: go to Account, then Calling, and find AI Call Rescue under Inbound calls. Turning it on sends missed calls on every line and inbox to its AloAi agent. You can see whether it's on in the top bar of Aloware Admin.
