Resolving A2P campaign errors and carrier blocks

How to fix A2P errors and avoid carrier blocks in Aloware: throttling, daily limits, and error codes 30007, 30022, 30023, 30027.

When you send A2P (Application-to-Person) SMS campaigns through Aloware, you may run into errors caused by carrier rules, daily message limits, or low trust scores. This article covers the most common A2P errors, what causes them, and how to fix or prevent them.

This guide is for Aloware admins and agents who manage SMS campaigns and broadcasts.

How to avoid carrier blocks when sending large SMS blasts

Two preventive measures help reduce the risk of carrier blocks during large SMS broadcasts:

  1. Throttle your message sending rates. Reducing your message sending throttle keeps your broadcasts aligned with carrier-imposed MPS (Messages Per Second) rates. Sending at a slower, steadier pace prevents overloading message traffic and reduces the risk of carrier blocks.

  2. Spread out message delivery times. Instead of sending all messages at once, stagger SMS delivery over a longer period. This keeps you within your assigned daily caps and avoids sudden spikes that trigger carrier filters.

Handling rejected campaigns

Fix any rejected campaigns promptly. Otherwise, you'll incur the $10 TCR monthly fee. Deleting rejected campaigns avoids those charges and helps you maintain a clear record of your active and pending campaigns.

For more on monthly campaign fees, see the A2P 10DLC fees guide.

Error code

Description

Solution

30007

Message filtered due to violating carrier guidelines.

Review the message content for compliance with carrier rules. This could involve adjusting the message's wording or content format to align with guidelines.

30022

Exceeded the carrier's maximum allowable message rate.

Slow down the message rate or adjust your campaign's pacing to avoid triggering rate limits. Consider automation to stagger messages.

30023

Reached the daily message limit set by the carrier.

Hold off on sending additional messages until the following day, or reconsider the volume of your daily outreach to stay within limits.

30027

Exceeded T-Mobile's daily messaging limit based on Trust Score.

The trust score system limits the number of outbound SMS and MMS segments you can send within 24 hours, resetting at midnight (Pacific US Time).

Additional notes

Maintaining a high A2P brand score can help improve your Messages Per Second (MPS) rate and reduce daily messaging issues.

Testing your delivery rates with smaller batches ensures compliance with carrier-imposed restrictions.
