To make the most of Caller Name Delivery (CNAM) in your communication strategies, it's essential to understand and register for this feature with Aloware. CNAM allows the name you choose to appear on the recipient's caller ID during outgoing calls, enhancing recognition and trust for you or your business.

Here’s a simplified guide to getting started and understanding CNAM's impact.

Only admins can register CNAM in Aloware.

Registering CNAM

  1. Start by logging into your Aloware account. If you don't have one yet, you can easily create an account and try our 7-day free trial.

  2. Navigate to the 'Lines' menu and choose the specific line you wish to register for CNAM.

  3. Click the 'Settings' button in the Operations column.

  4. Under the CNAM tab, initiate the CNAM registration. It typically requires entering the name you wish to display during outgoing calls. Ensure this name mirrors you or your business for optimal recognition.

    Take note of the following:

    1. CNAM should begin with a letter and can only contain letters, numbers, periods, commas, and spaces.

    2. Caller ID (CNAM) must be relevant to your business and business name; No impersonation allowed.

    3. Caller ID (CNAM) can take up to 48 hours to appear.

    4. Some carriers may not show this Caller ID.

    5. Some mobile numbers may need to turn a setting on or subscribe to see Caller IDs.

    6. No guarantee this Caller ID will work for Canada or Puerto Rico numbers.

  5. After entering your desired CNAM, ensure you save the changes to activate this feature. After saving your CNAM, it can take up to 30 days to propagate to other carriers' databases.

Remember, the availability of CNAM on mobile devices depends on specific carrier policies, with some requiring the download of a specific app and a nominal monthly fee. It's important to check these details with your service provider.
