How to configure notification settings in Aloware

Aloware notifications help you stay updated on calls, texts, events, and account activities without constantly checking the app.

By tailoring these settings, you can decide what deserves your attention and where you want to be notified—whether that’s inside the app, through email, or even via text message.

Access the notification settings tab

  1. Log in to your Aloware admin account.

  2. Go to the Users menu and search for the user you want to configure.

  3. Click Settings for that user.

  4. Select the notifications tab to view and adjust available options.

Select notification channels

Decide where notifications should appear. You can select one or multiple options:

  • In-app – real-time alerts in the browser app (app.aloware.com / talk.aloware.com)

  • Desktop app – notifications through the Aloware desktop program

  • Mobile app – alerts via Aloware Talk2 (iOS/Android)

  • Email – sent directly to your inbox

  • Text message – SMS alerts to a phone number you specify- Pop-ups – instant on-screen notifications available when enabled

Note: If you don’t set a custom number, text alerts go to your backup number. Disabling text notifications also disables the “Send Text to Custom Number” option.

Additionally, you can manage SMS charges for missed call notifications by either turning off missed call-related alerts or removing your phone number from the user settings. This allows you to control notification-related costs while maintaining awareness through other channels.

When a contact sends more than 15 messages within 30 seconds on a line, notifications will follow your selected channels. You’ll also get sample alerts to preview how they look.

Enable communication notifications

These keep you informed about direct interactions and assignments. You can receive alerts for:

  • Incoming calls, texts, or voicemails (to your line or groups you belong to)

  • Faxes to your personal line

  • Mentions from other users

  • Contact assignments or ownership changes

  • Appointments or reminders assigned to you

If Fishing Mode is enabled, you’ll also be notified about call opportunities.

Set event reminders

Never miss a meeting or appointment by choosing when to be alerted. Options include:

  • At creation

  • 1 hour before

  • 15 minutes before

  • 1 minute before

  • 1 day before

This lets you plan your day without needing to constantly check the calendar.

Manage line notifications

If you’re part of multiple lines, you can choose which ones you want to receive alerts from. This helps you focus on the lines most relevant to your role instead of being notified for everything.

  1. In the Notification Settings tab, go to Line Notifications.

  2. Select the lines you want to receive alerts from.

  3. Save your preferences.

Enable high SMS volume notifications

High SMS notifications let you know when a contact sends too many messages in a short period—for example, more than 15 messages within 30 seconds. This helps you quickly spot urgent customer issues or identify possible spam.

To enable this, open the Notification Settings tab and go to High SMS Notifications. Switch the setting on, and Aloware will send you an alert whenever the threshold is exceeded.

Manage missed call notifications

Missed call notifications in Aloware ensure you stay responsive to customer inquiries by offering various alert channels. To manage these:

  1. Enable or disable botifications - adjust notification settings to enable or disable missed call alerts through channels such as pop-ups, email, or SMS.

  2. User-level configurations - each user can customize these settings to align with their role or responsibilities. If SMS charges are a concern, you can:

    1. Turn off missed call notifications for your Ring Group to prevent SMS alerts.

    2. Remove your phone number from user settings to disable SMS notifications while keeping other channels active.
