When using Aloware, it is important to know how international phone numbers work to manage your communication effectively. This guide covers how Aloware defines international numbers, and how to request international numbers.
What is an international phone number in Aloware?
In Aloware, an international phone number is any number outside the US and Canada. This includes numbers from all other countries, whether in Europe, Asia, or elsewhere. This affects how calls and messages are charged, with international rates applying to communications involving these numbers.
For customers in the US and Canada
Aloware considers phone numbers within the US and Canada as local. These numbers are often included in your billing plan, allowing seamless communication within these regions without extra international charges.
For customers registered outside of the US and Canada
For customers registered in countries outside the US and Canada, like Switzerland, the scenario is slightly different. You'll receive one free local US phone number as part of your subscription plan. However, any local numbers you purchase for your users in your registered country (e.g. Swiss numbers) will be charged as international numbers.
How to request for international phone numbers
Aloware billing admins can now request international phone numbers and view the associated rates for calls and SMS with ease in account > international pricing.
Requesting a phone number
To request a phone number quote, select the country where you need the number under the phone number > rent number from.
Then, select the type of number you want β mobile, local, or toll-free β as each type has different rates.

International phone numbers are charged as add-ons.
Deleting an international phone number
Should you need to delete an international phone number, reach out to your account manager, and they'll handle the deletion process for you.
While international phone numbers are charged as add-ons, keep in mind that international calls and SMS are billed separately. Rates vary by country, so be sure to check this guide for more information.
