Use Aloware Talk’s voicemail drop to send pre-recorded messages during calls, saving time and ensuring consistent communication.

What VM drop does?

VM Drop lets you insert a pre-recorded message into a contact's voicemail during an outbound call. You build a library of recordings ahead of time, then choose which one to drop when a call goes to voicemail. You decide on each call whether to use a recording or leave a live message, so the choice stays in your hands.

Teams use VM Drop to leave consistent voicemails without recording a new message every time. Common cases include sales follow-ups, standard support responses, and any situation where agents make many calls a day and leave similar messages.

Before you start

VM Drop only works if your voicemail drop library already contains recordings. If you have not built your library yet, set it up first using the voicemail drop setup guide.

How to use VM drop during a call

Follow these steps once a call you have placed goes to voicemail.

  1. Start an outbound call

Open Aloware Talk and dial your contact's number from the dialer.

  2. Wait for the voicemail beep

If the call goes unanswered and reaches voicemail, stay on the line until you hear the beep. The beep marks the start of the recording.

  3. Click the “VM Drop” button

Find the VM Drop button on the call interface and click it. Your library of pre-recorded messages opens.

  4. Select your message

Browse the library and click the message you want to use for this call.

  5. Leave the voicemail

Click Leave Voicemail. Aloware inserts the selected recording into the contact's voicemail box.

  6. Confirm delivery

Open the contact's communication history and review the logs to confirm Aloware sent the voicemail.

Keeping your library effective

Two habits keep your recordings useful over time:

  1. Keep recordings short. Voicemails that run 15 to 30 seconds tend to get listened to in full.

  2. Review the library regularly. Replace outdated recordings so the messages you drop stay accurate and relevant.

FAQs about VM Drops

  1. Can I use VM Drop on every call?

You can use VM Drop whenever a call reaches voicemail. It is optional, so you can leave a live message or skip the voicemail entirely on any call.

  2. What if the VM Drop button is unavailable or not working?

Confirm your settings are configured correctly and that your voicemail drop library contains at least one recording. If the button still does not appear, contact Aloware support for troubleshooting.
